Wall measurements

Use the area you want to decorate, above your baseboard. Fractions such as 3 1/2 work too.

Layout details

Frames are measured to their outside edges. Trim width reduces the clear opening inside each frame.

Check a window or outlet

Include the casing or cover plate. Measure from the top-left of your treatment area.

This flags overlap. It does not shorten trim or move the layout automatically.

Mitered pieces are measured long point to long point. Material target is total length, not a guaranteed number of stock boards.

Plan, then double-check. Tape the design on the real wall and verify your measurements before cutting. This plans decorative trim; it does not check fastening, electrical work, or building requirements.

01

Measure the usable area

Start above your baseboard. Use the actual width of the trim, not its nominal size.

02

Try a few arrangements

Change the number of panels or frames and compare the proportions on your wall.

03

Print. Check. Make.

Take the drawing and cut list with you. Confirm the real fit before buying and cutting.
